The general Scholarships Call is already open:
Authors with accepted papers may apply for scholarship covering the conference fee, lodging expenses or travel aid. The application must be submitted to Dr. Isabel Gómez no later than March 17th 2007, and must include:
• Personal CV
• Current affiliation
• Motivation for the need of scholarship
• Oral English level
• Presentation title and submission number
• Type of aid requested (conference fee/ dinner / lodging / travel aid)
The criteria to be considered are:
Possible items to be funded (Please, choose one or several of the following items)
• Conference fee
• Lodging expenses
• Travel aid for long distance flights (up to 300 Euros). Presentation of an original invoice will be required.
The applications will be evaluated and the applicants will be informed by March
31st 2007.

Call for Nominations
1. Nature of the Award
The scholarship will consist of an award of $3,000 (donated by the Eugene Garfield Foundation) to be used for travel or other research related expenses of the grant recipient, contingent upon the recipient's attending the ISSI biennial conference. The next meeting of ISSI will be held on June 25-27, 2007 in Madrid, Spain.
2. Purpose of the Award
The purpose of this scholarship is to foster research in bibliometrics, scientometrics, informetrics and webometrics by encouraging and assisting doctoral students in the field with their dissertation research.
3. Eligibility
3.1 The scholarship recipient must meet the following qualifications:
(a) Be an active doctoral candidate pursuing research using bibliometric, scientometric, informetric or webometric methodology in a degree-granting institution;
(b) Have a doctoral dissertation proposal accepted by the institution.
3.2 The applicant need not be a Student Member or a Regular Member of ISSI to be considered for this scholarship.4. Administration
The award is sponsored by the Eugene Garfield Foundation with the cooperation of the Chemical Heritage Foundation, and is administered by the Board of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI).
5. Nominations
Submissions should include the following:
(a) The doctoral research proposal, including a description of the research, methodology, and significance, 10 pages or less in length, double-spaced, and in English;
(b) An abstract of the paper to be presented at the ISSI Conference;
(c) A cover letter from the dissertation advisor endorsing the proposal; and
(d) An up-to-date curriculum vitae.6. Submission instructions and deadline
